SCLT at the Bath Later Life Show 2013
The 2013 rendition of the Bath Later Life Show, held at the imposing Bath Pavilion, saw more than 42 exhibitors from the fields of financial, care and legal support for the older adult population come together, to offer advice and expert guidence to the hundreds of visitors to the event.
Headlining the event were the Senior Citizen Liaison Team (SCLT), recently returned from their visit to No 10 Downing Street to collect their Big Society Award from the Prime Minister. The SCLT are a national charity that provides crime prevention, victim support and social advocacy services to older adults throughout the UK. Many of their volunteers are experts in the field of senior crime and served as members of the professional law enforcement services of the UK.
During the event, a number of the exhibitors took to the venue stage to give themed presentations to the visitors. The SCLT team offered presentations on 'doorstep crime' and 'scams & cons' to help keep the older adults safer when facing potential deceptions as they go about their daily lives.
SCLT Trustee Mike Wedlock anchored the event for the award-winning team and gave the opening stage presentation on doorstep crime, he said, "It's actually the first time that the SCLT have come to the Bath Later Life Show, but we have enjoyed the experience of talking to the visitors to the event, and look forward to future visits in the years to come"
