SCLT Shortlisted in National Crime Fighting Awards
The SCLT were recently shortlisted in the annual search by NFU Mutual to find a winner for their Country Crime Fighter Awards.
A note from Richard Percy, Chairman of NFU Mutual
“As the UK's leading rural insurer and part of the fabric of country life, we have a responsibility to offer
continued support to rural communities in their on-going fight against crime.
"To celebrate the resourceful, inventive, yet often unrecognised individuals and communities who take an active stance against rural crime, we are proud to launch the NFU Mutual Country Crime Fighters Awards 2014, now in its third year.
"Be it a member of the public, anti-crime group, local policeman or one of our own Agents, this competition aims to celebrate and reward fantastic examples of crime prevention activity taking place in the countryside.
"I cannot wait to start uncovering the UK’s unsung rural heroes.”
Speaking in response to the news that the SCLT had been shortlisted for the award, SCLT Director Ash Jones commented,
"Over the last 5-years the SCLT have scooped a number of local, regional and even national awards. We are always surprised to be selected for such recognition and it really boosts the team to know that our volunteering efforts are appreciated by the community"
A representative of the SCLT will travel to London in October to attend the awards ceremony, in which the national winner will be announced.
