SCLT Public Presentation Team Visit Wiveliscombe

April 13th saw SCLT volunteer Ash Jones visiting the monthly meeting of the Wiveliscombe Senior Group in the community centre of the Southern Somerset town. The group meet regularly to enjoy each others company, afternoon refreshments, bingo & other social activities as well as guest speakers on a variety of interesting subjects.

Many of the attendees travel from the smaller settlements and villages in the rural Somerset area and the group meetings are a great place to meet other active seniors and get involved in community activities.

Following the event, Ash said, "This afternoon has been a very pleasant opportunity to visit this lovely part of countryside and to experience the camaraderie which is evident amongst this closely knit group. Hopefully my senior safety presentation will give the audience an insight on the types of deception crimes that are known to be doing the rounds at the moment and how they can stay safe into later life "

"As ever, I was very pleased to stay behind for as long as necessary after my talk to answer any questions on an individual basis, as well as offering my details and the contact details of the SCLT charity for any on-going crime educational support or advice as may be needed in the future. And as always, every member of the 40-strong audience received a personal copy of the award-winning Senior Siren magazine"
