SCLT Trustees To Participate in Annual Muslim Charity Walk for Peace
Sunday 31st May 2015 will see thousands of participants descent upon the magnificent Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, Surrey to take part in the annual Charity Walk for Peace of the Ahmadiyyan Muslim Community. The very popular event, will see thousands of sponsered walkers following the 6-mile route, which will encompass a number of local landmarks - most notably Wimbledon and the vibrant centre of Morden itself.
The event has been existance since 1998, raises many thousands of pounds for nationwide charities every year, with more than £360,000 being raised by the Ahmadiyyan community at the 2014 rendition of the walk.
The Senior Citizen Liaison Team charity has been selected to be one of the charities that will benefit from the proceeds of the event in 2015.
Ash Jones is director of the SCLT Charity, he said "We are again very humbled and honoured to find ourselves as the recipients of support from the Ahmadiyyan Muslim Community through the annual Charity Walk for Peace. We took part in the event in 2014 and found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable event, where we had the opportunity to make many new friends and find out a great deal about the remarkable charitable works of the Ahmadi community"
"A small team of SCLT volunteers will again be participating in the sponsered walk and interested parties can still register to take part in the event, or can pledge sponsership or make a financial donation via the Charity Walk for Peace website"
