SCLT Public Presentation Team Visit Tickenham in North Somerset

Tuesday 12th May 2015 saw SCLT volunteer Ash Jones making an appearance as guest speaker at the annual general meeting of the Tickenham Neighbourhood Watch meeting, which was held in the Village Hall of the semi-rural, North Somerset community.

The events of the night included a presentaton on local crimes by members of the local neighbourhood policing team and business matters relating to the administration and financial well-being of the thriving Neighbourhood Watch Group.

Ash commented, “I am very pleased to see that the Tickenham Neighbourhood Watch is such a strong force for good in the local community. We are very much advocates of looking out for the whole communinty, and particularly the most vulnerable, which are frequently the eldest members of the local society - long may this continue to be the case in this, and the other local villages.”

“Today's presentation has heavily focused upon being smart to the many scams and cons that the heartless deception criminals target at the senior community. Although we don't dwell too long on crime, it is important to have a knowledge of the type of crimes that are out there because the old adage that knowledge is power is very much the case when it comes to senior crime ”

Every member of the group received a personal copy of the latest edition of the award-winning magazine of the Senior Citizen Liaison Team, ‘The Senior Siren’, which now is made available to more than 250,000 readers every-other month.
