SCLT Public Presentation Team Visit Street in Somerset

Wednesday 10th June 2015 has seen SCLT volunteer Roger Buxton being hosted by the Street Neighbourhood Watch Group to their annual general meeting in the village community centre.

The meeting also benefited from a Dementia Awareness presentation which was a very relevant precursor to the main event - the SCLT senior safety presentation, which seeks to offer advice and support techniques to older adults, particularly the vulnerable, through awareness of the risks of deception crime.

Following his presentation Rogercommented, “There was a strong attendance at tonight's meeting and it was very pleasing to see so many people who take an active interest in keeping their local community safe and secure. "

"In a very recent survey which was undertaken by Age UK, it was discovered that 8% of people aged 60+ in England and Wales say they live in fear of crime, so our work in spreading the senior safety message has never been more important"

Every member of the group received a personal copy of the latest edition of the award-winning magazine of the Senior Citizen Liaison Team, ‘The Senior Siren’, which now is made available to more than 250,000 readers every-other month.
