SCLT Public Presentation Team Hosted by Milton Probus Club
Thursday 25th June 2015 has seen SCLT volunteer Roger Buxton being hosted Milton Probus Club for a senior safety presentation at the Milton Methodist Church.
The meeting was well attended by the membership of the Probus Club, who meet at the location regularly to enjoy guest speakers, light refreshments and companionship.
Probus clubs were first formed, as an acronym for Pro(fessional) and Bus(iness), in the early 1920's in Saskatchewan, CANADA, and in New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A., the latter devoted to helping people with disabilities.
Following his presentation Roger commented, “Probus clubs give a fantastic opportunity for like-minded, retired professionals to meet up on a regular basis and to share stimulating conversation and to share the pleasure of each other's company. What a great way to overcome lonliness and isolation in later life"
Every member of the group received a personal copy of the latest edition of the award-winning magazine of the Senior Citizen Liaison Team, ‘The Senior Siren’, which now is made available to more than 250,000 readers every-other month.
