SCLT Public Presentation Team in Worle

Wednesday 23th September 2015 has seen the SCLT Public Presentation Team visiting the vibrant Worle Friendship Club in Weston-super-Mare, to facilitate an interactive senior safety presentation on the dangers of scams & cons for the 40-strong group of elder citizens.

The well attended weekly meetings of the club, take place in the centraly located Worle Community Centre, only 100m from the town centre of the thriving community. The group meet to enjoy guest speakers, light refreshments and community outings to local points of interest.

SCLT volunteer Ash Jones  said, “ Clubs like these Worle really give our charity the opportunity to speak to the most important people in the neighbourhood, those who are most likely to answer the phone, receive an e-mail or open mail that could contain a scam. It has been a pleasure to meet the group and answer all their questions on senior safety. I hope they will be a little safer if they are ever tested by a situation involving a deception or fraud "

Every member of the audience received a personal copy of the award winning SEnior Siren magazine, which contains advice and tips on staying safe into later life.
