Public Presentation Team Visit Chipping Sodbury

Tuesday 13th October 2015, has seen the Chipping Sodbury Branch of Probus hosting SCLT volunteer Roger Ibrahim as guest speaker at their monthly meeting in the Town Hall of the historic market town.

The  session involved a facilitated presentation on the dangers of fraud and deception crime for the growing older adult community. The presentation was supported with an interactive PowerPoint presentation, which is aimed at empowering elders to be aware of deceptions and scams and to suggest actions to take if such circumstances are encountered.

The presentation, which is designed to be entertaining as well as educational for the audience, takes the audience through the evolution of the SCLT charity. Telling the story of why the organisation was established and how it has gone from strength to strength in it's 6-year history.

SCLT volunteer Roger said, “ I have enjoyed spending the morning with the gentlemen of the Chipping Sodbury Probus group. These folks already have an advantage over many vulnerable seniors, as they regularly meet to share experiences and have the opportunity to socialise and share each others company. I hope my presentation made the audience think about what they would do, if they received a knock at the door, or a phone call telling them they have won money "

Every member of the audience received a personal copy of the very latest edition of the awared winning Senior Siren Magazine, which can be read online by clicking on the link below.
