SCLT Public Presentation Team Hosted by Sedgemoor Older Person's Forum

Monday 2nd November 2015 has seen SCLT volunteer Ash Jones joining the monthly meeting of the Sedgemoor Older Person's Forum at the council chamber of Sedgemoor District Council Offices in the heart of Bridgwater town centre.

During the session, Ash facilitated the fully interactive presentation on senior safety for the group. The theme of the SCLT presentation being awareness of the various scams, frauds and deceptions that often affect senior citizens and how to recognise and most common frauds presently doing the rounds.

The Sedgemoor Older Person's Forum provides an opportunity for local seniors, and members representing other older adult groups, to come togther to share information and ideas on issues affecting older people in the district.

At the conclusion of the  presentation, Ash commented, “This forum seems a great example of elders taking the initiative to join togther in a pleasant environment to dicuss issues affecting the senior sector”

“Today's presentation has heavily focused upon being prepared for the scams which may come via the phone, computer or even through the letterbox. I hope my presentation will have helped some of the audience make a plan for the day when it may be their turn to spot a scam and take decisive action”

Every member of the group received a personal copy of the latest edition of the award-winning magazine of the Senior Citizen Liaison Team, ‘The Senior Siren’, which now is made available to more than 250,000 readers every-other month.
