SCLT Public Presentation Team Visit The 'Tea Break Club'

Tuesday 6th June 2017, has seen SCLT volunteer presenter Ash Jones visiting the monthly meeting of the 'Tea Break Club' for elder citizens in Creech St Michael near the Somerset town of Taunton. The group, which is a church fellowship-based club, meet every month at the Evercreech Baptish Church, to enjoy an afternoon tea with friends and fellow elder citizens, as well as enjoying interesting and educational presentations from visiting guest speakers.

SCLT safety presenter Ash gave the group a senior safety presentation on the risks associated with fraud and deception-type crime, which is frequently targetted at the elderly, he said “I have enjoyed my visit to Evercreech and I think our message of senior safety in the face of an ever-growing fraud threat was well received by the 40 members who have attended the meeting today. We try and inpart an interesting and very entertaining presentation for our audience, featuring state-of-the-art video and audio content which makes our elders think about how they may be targetted and how they can stay safe. Its all about empowering folks to look after themselves and others - it seemed to hit the spot today!!"

Every attendee received a personal copy of the award-winning Senior Siren magazine
