SCLT Public Presentation Team Visit Severn Vale Social Club


Wednesday 7th March 2018, has seen SCLT volunteer Ash Jones attending the regular meeting of the Severn Vale Social Club in the Hamfields Leisure Club in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. The group meet monthly to keep abreast of local affairs, to enjoy guest speakers and to enjoy each other’s company over a cup of tea and a biscuit, whilst participating in arts and crafts competitions and interesting trips to local amenities.


Ash delivered one of the SCLT Charity’s highly acclaimed senior safety lectures for the group on the subject of avoiding financial harm in later life. The state-of-the-art presentation includes eye-catching animation, video and sound content to keep the audience enthralled throughout, whilst learning about the myriad dangers that everyone encounters in their daily lives around fraud and scams.


At the conclusion of the evening, Jon commented, “I have really enjoyed meeting everyone at the Severn Vale Social Club today and having the opportunity to share with them the many tips and advice that we are able to impart of older adult groups about avoiding financial harm scams and frauds to help keep them safe in later life.”


Every member of the audience received a personal copy of the award-winning Senior Siren magazine – the quarterly publication of the Senior Citizen Liaison Team, which offers crime prevention advice and a host of other lifestyle information for seniors and those who support elder family members.
