SCLT Public Presentation Team Visit – St Peter's Methodist Group in Brislington
Wednesday 20th March2019, has seen SCLT volunteer Ashley Jones joining an enthusiastic audience of attendees at the monthly meeting of the St Peter's Methodist Over 50's Group at the Methodist Church on Broomhill Road in Brislington.
SCLT volunteer Ash Jones, used his visit to deliver a fully illustrated elder safety slideshow, which had a specific focus upon avoiding the dangers of financial exploitation of the elder community through the many scams and frauds that can now be encountered on a daily basis via the phone, email, letters and even at the doorstep.
At the conclusion of his visit, Ash commented, “The ladies of the group have been a very engaging and attentive audience and asked many thought-provoking questions about staying safe from scams & frauds. It was a pleasure to present our talk on this subject to such a committed audience and have the opportunity of sharing some ideas and thoughts that may keep many people a little safer in the future. ”
Every member of the audience received a personal copy of the award-winning Senior Siren magazine – the quarterly publication of the Senior Citizen Liaison Team, which offers crime prevention advice and a host of other lifestyle information for seniors and those who support elder family members
